About Us

A research and advocacy hub for Australia’s pronatalist turn.

Pronatalism Australia is an independent, non-partisan non-profit focused on one big question: How can a wealthy, modern country like Australia remain demographically healthy without sacrificing fairness, freedom, or sustainability?

Our Story

Over the past decade, Australia’s fertility rate has drifted downwards while public debate has fixated on other topics. Climate change, migration, housing, and productivity attract endless attention; the simple question of whether we are replacing ourselves does not.

Pronatalism Australia grew out of a realisation that declining fertility is not a niche curiosity. Many Australians who would like two, three, or more children quietly end up with fewer – not because they changed their minds, but because the path became too narrow.

We founded this organisation to fill the gap: to bring rigorous research, ethical reflection, and practical policy thinking together under a single banner.

Our Vision

An Australia where it is normal, viable, and culturally supported for people to form families and have the children they genuinely want – and where our population is healthy enough to sustain a flourishing society.

Our Mission

  • Make fertility visible: Put demographic capital on the agenda.
  • Diagnose barriers: Use data to understand how housing and work suppress childbearing.
  • Shift the narrative: Offer a hopeful alternative to demographic complacency.

Our Values

Stewardship, not panic
Demographic health is a matter of intergenerational responsibility.
Pluralism
We focus on enabling, not forcing, parenthood.
Hopeful Realism
We acknowledge crises like housing and climate, but insist better choices are possible.
