Andrew Glover

Founder, Pronatalism Australia
Andrew Glover is a sociologist and researcher based in Wollongong, New South Wales, and the founder of Pronatalism Australia, an independent, non-partisan not-for-profit working on Australia’s declining fertility rate. He holds a PhD from the Institute for Sustainable Futures at the University of Technology Sydney, and has worked as a research fellow at RMIT University’s Digital Ethnography Research Centre and in applied social research for government.
His current work asks how a wealthy, modern country can create the conditions for people to have the children they want. He argues for pronatalism as a pluralist, non-coercive civic commitment rather than a partisan cause, and has developed policy proposals including Babyannuation, Shared Superannuation Accrual, Family Formation Literacy and Life-Stage Housing for Young Families.
His book, Pronatalism Now: Why the Future Depends on Us Having Children, is forthcoming. His essays have appeared in Quillette, Areo and The Australian.
